Do I need experience to start Jiu-Jitsu?
No. Most of our students start with no prior experience. We guide beginners step-by-step in a structured and supportive environment.
Is my first class really free?
Yes. Your first class is completely free. We want you to try Jiu-Jitsu and see if it’s a good fit before committing.
Which class should I try first?
That depends on age and experience. Our Choose the Right Program page will guide you to the appropriate class so you don’t have to guess.
Do I need to be in shape to start?
No. Jiu-Jitsu helps you get in shape. You can start at your current fitness level and progress at your own pace.
What ages can join Kids Jiu-Jitsu?
Our Kids Jiu-Jitsu program is for children ages 5-12.
Is Jiu-Jitsu Safe for Kids?
Yes. Safety is our top priority. Classes are age-appropriate, supervised, and focused on control, respect, and proper technique—not strength or aggression.
Does the kids' free trial include Gi and No-Gi classes?
Yes. The free trial allows your child to experience both Gi and No-Gi classes, which each take place twice per week.
Does my child need a uniform for the first class?
No. Your child can try their first class without purchasing a Gi. If they continue training, we’ll help you with uniform options.
Where do adults and teens start?
All beginners ages 13 and up start in
Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals (Gi).
Can beginners attend No-Gi Classes?
Beginners may attend All Levels No-Gi Grappling after starting in Fundamentals. However, No-Gi classes are not designed for beginners.
Can experienced grapplers book a free No-Gi Class?
Yes. Experienced grapplers may book a free class for Advanced No-Gi Grappling or All Levels No-Gi Grappling.
What is the training environment like?
Training is structured, respectful, and focused on learning. We emphasize safety, control, and mutual respect between training partners.
Will I be paired with someone my size or experience?
Yes. We do our best to pair students appropriately, especially for beginners, so everyone can train safely and confidently.
Is Jiu-Jitsu aggressive?
No. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a technical martial art focused on leverage, control, and problem-solving—not striking or aggression.
How much does membership cost?

Are there contracts or hidden fees?
Our memberships are month-to-month. You can cancel at anytime. There are no long-term contracts, and no hidden fees.
Do I need a Gi to train?
A Gi is required for Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals (Gi) classes. We have Gis available for rent or purchase.
What should I wear to my first class?
Comfortable athletic clothing is fine for your first class. If you continue training, we’ll help you with appropriate attire.
How early should I arrive to my first class?
Please arrive 15-20 minutes before class so we can welcome you, show you around, and get you ready.
What if I’m nervous about trying Jiu-Jitsu?
That’s completely normal. Our Instructors are experienced at helping new students feel comfortable, supported, and confident from day one.
